Search and Analysis
I don’t see any products when I search
This can happen due to multiple factors:
- Your neighborhood does not have enough community members. Spread the word! Let your friends join PriceTracker meimei!
- Your neighborhood does not have this product. Be the first one to create it!
- Unusual products. Some products have unusual shape or form or hard to identify. Add information manually or save it as is. PriceTracker meimei AI will try to resolve it in future.
- Problems with camera or search. Check if your device works well with other camera apps. Update your device to latest OS version.
- All other problems. Many things can happen that can deteriorate performance of search and analysis. Leave us feedback in Help Center or inside PriceTracker.
Product analysis is not accurate
I cannot save product
Product
Product associated with my search has changed
Product Price is not updated after products added, reported or deleted
Millions of people in PriceTracker meimei community are updating even single product. Therefore, single update to a product may not significantly update its information. Additionally, it may take some time to update historical records when old information deleted or reported.
Product price is not displayed for measurement
This product has not yet been detected with the measurement you are interested in (e.g. mass or weight, volume, area, quantity).
For example, some products such as “milk”, is traditionally measured in volume and not mass, and measurement in “square feet” or “pieces” is not possible.
Therefore, price for 1kg of milk
would not be available.
For such products prices and other information would be available only for measurements that are detected.
Product prices are collected only for products that have corresponding measurement.
Currency
Currencies are not converted accurately
We are doing our best to get latest and most accurate currencies. Typically currencies are updated within a day. Price at historical times are converted at exchange rates at that time to ensure accuracy. Our typical precision of conversion is one day.
Wrong or unexpected currencies
Please check your preferred currency in Settings > Profile > Currency
.
This currency will be prioritized in PriceTracker meimei.
Note, that There are more than 200 currencies in the world. PriceTracker intelligently selects most relevant currencies to you based on your language, location and products.
You can also enable automatic currency conversion in Settings > Profile > Currency
.
PriceTracker meimei will intelligently detect and convert prices into your preferred currency.
Note
If you have disabled automatic currency conversion, certain product may show up with different currencies.
This may also happen if PriceTracker meimei cannot convert currency because it cannot identify exchange rate for it.
Similarly, when you search, there can mistakes to identify currency of a product, such as attributing $
to USD
or HKD
.
For example, you may see 10 USD
when you would expect 10 HKD
.
This may also happen when product itself explicitly states currency different from standard currency of your place.
Seeing different currencies is common for imported products from other countries.
Product price percentage change is different for currencies
Product prices are converted to currencies at the rate of that time. This means that if in past exchange rate was different, then percentage change would change as well. If no currency conversion is applied, then price reflects product prices seen at those currencies, which means they may or may not match percenta change. In short, seeing different percentage changes for different currencies is expected.
Measurement
Wrong or unexpected measurement units
There are multiple measurement systems in the world. Two major systems “Imperial” (used in USA) and “Metric”, as well as multiple minor ones. PriceTracker meimei intelligently detects which currency may be most relevant to you based on your location, language, and product.
You can choose your preferred measurement units in Settings > Measurements
.
These units will be prioritized in PriceTracker meimei.
Note
Certain products may still show up with different units.
For example, you may see 450g of pasta
when you would expect it to be 1 pond of pasta
.
This may happen when product itself explicitly states it mass in grams
.
Seeing different measurement units is common for imported products from other countries.
If you would like to convert all units you see in PriceTracker to your preferred units, set Settings > Measurements > Convert Units
to On
.
Map
Some of my product searches are missing in the map
Map displays personal searches only within last month. For the full list of your searches, please check your profile page.
Products appear in empty region where they not supposed to be
PriceTracker AI is seeing geography in terms of cells that may cross boundaries of countries, cities and land-masses. If you see heatmap or Trending/Search show results for regions there are empty (such as Oceans), this could be because of cells that encompass and describe this geo region are covering non-visible (beyond screen) areas that do have products.
Security
Verification Code Email is not received
- Make sure email is not in your spam folder.
- If you are using Apple Private Relay, try setting different email provider (e.g. Google, QQ, 163.com), since Apple Private Relay can block email delivery.
Network and Infrastructure
My Settings or My Profile information is not updated
PriceTracker meimei stores user information and settings in our private cloud. In case of network issues, PriceTracker meimei may not receive updates you made. Make sure you have stable internet connection.
My Searches are not saved instantly
PriceTracker meimei is working through the internet and requires some time to perform processing. You searches may appear usually within minutes. In case of network or other failures there can be a data loss.
PriceTracker is very slow, stuck or does not return anything
If you see very slow, stuck, or no responses in PriceTracker, particularly during Search, Analysis, or Saving, there can be issue with network or infrastructure. There can be multiple reasons for this:
- Make sure you have strong internet connection. PriceTracker may show you notification when internet connection is bad. WiFi networks generally work better. Check that your device can upload images quickly enough to internet.
- Try connecting to different network provider (e.g. different wifi, personal hotspot, or cable).
- Make sure to update to latest version of your device OS.
- Make sure you don’t have too many apps open and your device is functioning properly. Try to see if other apps are working properly on your device.
- Make sure your device is not overheating or in otherwise extreme conditions.
- Restart your device. Reconnect to your network.
- Check diagnostics information in
Settings > Privacy > Diagnostics > View Diagnostics
to understand if PriceTracker can connect to internet and if it is working as expected. (may require advanced software engineering knowledge)
Important
Do not share your diagnostic information to unauthorized people or publicly. Although diagnostic information does not contain personalized details, it strongly advised to keep it private. To prevent possible breaches to privacy, safety and security of your account, treat this information as any other private and confidential information (such as your password or private notes).
